Ibadan Poly Commences Open Distance, Flexible e-Learning

The Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Professor Kazeem Adebiyi has on Monday disclosed that the institution has commenced its Open Distance and Flexible e-Learning (ODFeL).

Professor Adebiyi stated this in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen at the launching of the programme.

The Rector explained that the mission of the institution as one of the best institutions was to be feasible, be online, and to be known all over the world.

“This programme was approved in 2020 by National Board of Technical Education (NBTE), we are about taking off because all necessary requirements have been put in place in terms of technology and human resources to pilot the programme”, he said.

He noted that it will be for prospective admission seekers.

Adebiyi added that the concept behind the programme was to make education available to all students regardless of their distance and status and that the programne would among others assist The Polytechnic, Ibadan, to deliver its mandate to students on interrupted academic activities.

Meanwhile, the Rector who stated that some students are interested in going to urban based institution but could not make it due to lack of fund and modern necessities, has added that ODFeL was an avenue for such students to achieve their dream.
