Ibadan South West 2 Aspirants Debunk Report of Makinde Endorsing Incumbent Lawmakers, Insist on Primaries

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Ibadan South West local government constituency 2, have been urged to disregard rumours going round that Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has endorsed the candidature of the incumbent lawmakers, from the constituency .

They also want some party stakeholders threatening other aspirants who insisted on going to the primaries, to stop their actions which, according to them is not in the interest of the party.

This was contained in a protest letter written and signed by all the aspirants in the council area.

According to the agreement reached in the two constituencies, all the aspirants are to go for primaries.

The protest statement reads:

“This is to bring to the notice of all members in the Ibadan South West local government, that the information being spread around by some self-centered leaders in the local government, that Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has endorsed the incumbent lawmakers and mandated all delegates to work in line with his directives is nothing but definite lies, by some self-centered leaders of the party”

They however advised leaders like Bose Adedibu, Moruff Olumide Balogun, chairman of the local government and others to stop threatening other aspirants, who insisted on going to the primaries, warning that their actions is not in the interest of the party.

Meanwhile, the aspirants who signed the release included Kazeem Alarape Abidemi, Ishola Abiodun Adekunle Baruwa, Babatunde George Ige and Oluwafemi Gbemiga. Others were Samson Opeyemi Fatola, Alimi Kabiru, Gbenga Folorunsho Elebolo, Lawal Modify Olawale and Aliu Rahmon Abiona.
