Ibarapa Bus Kidnapping: Oyo Police Deny Reports

The Oyo State Police Command has refuted the news of the alleged kidnapping of a busful of passengers en-route Igboora-Eruwa road in Oyo state on Thursday morning.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko, denied the report on Thursday at the parading of four suspected kidnappers and 33 other suspects at the command’s headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan.

Onadeko revealed that the command could not verify the claims of the alleged kidnapping when the reports of the event was reported at the command.

In her words: “I will enjoin people to desist from carrying baseless rumors that will create fear in the society.

“Oyo State Command will continue working hard to make sure that lives and property are secure.

“People should give us credible information that will enable us nip crime and criminality in the bud in the state.”

Onadeko, however, declared that the parade of the suspects would send a strong warning to criminals and would deter other intending criminals to rethink their ways.
