No fewer than 15 communities in Oyo State have been thrown into darkness due to technical faults that prevented public power supply.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) announced this in a statement on Thursday evening.
According to the statement shared through its Facebook page, the IBEDC said the technical faults affected the Lalupon & Oyo 33KV feeders and Sango, Barracks & Shasa 11KV feeders.
As a result of the current development, the distribution company disclosed that Oyo town and others are currently experiencing a power outage.
The release stated: “Dear Esteemed Customers, kindly note that due to technical faults on the Lalupon & Oyo 33kV feeders and Sango, Barracks & Shasa 11kv feeders, customers in the following communities: Ebenesary, Olodo, lyana Church, Oyo Town, Awe, Fiditi area, Sango, Ajegunle, ljale-oda Area, Army Barracks, Koomi, Command School area, Shasa, Ilagbe, Niser area, and environs are experiencing a power outage.
The IBEDC, therefore, assured that the power supply would be restored soon, saying its technical crew are already on it.
