Impeachment: Oyo Deputy, Olaniyan Challenges Judgement, Heads to Appeal Court

The deputy governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan has appealed the judgement of the Oyo State High Court dismissing his suit against the impeachment process initiated against him, by the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Counsel to Olaniyan, Chief Afolabi Fashanu, confirmed the development on Thursday.

Recall that Justice Ladiran Akintola had earlier on Thursday dismissed the suit, saying the defendants have not breached any constitutional provisions on the matter.

Earlier, Oyoaffairs.net had reported that Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court had dismissed the case filed by the state’s deputy governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan to challenge the House of Assembly’s move to impeach him from office.

The judge held that the lawmakers and all the defendants have not erred on the procedures taken on the impeachment process.
