Jos Crises: Makinde Deploys Evacuation Team to UniJos, Evacuates 85 Oyo Students



In the wake of the recent crises witnesses in Jos, Plateau State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has deployed an evacuation team to evacuate about eighty-five students of the University of Jos who are indigenes and residents of Oyo State.

Concerned about the vulnerability of the students’ community at the University of Jos, Governor Makinde deployed a team led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on student affairs, Hon. Victor Olojede and security escort to Jos and the students were brought back safely to Ibadan.

The students who were evacuated with two luxury buses and security escorts stopped by at the Governor’s office to register their appreciation to the Governor for the timely gesture.

Kolawole Paul, President of Odua students, University of Jos commended the timely gesture of Governor Seyi Makinde and noted that no fatality was recorded involving students of Odua indigene in the recent crises

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi who received the students said the current administration remained youth-friendly and committed to being responsive to the people’s well being whether in the state or outside the state

Other logistic arrangements were made to ensure the students arrived at their respective homes safely.
