JUST IN: Buhari Names Ibadan Train Stations After Awolowo, Akintola

President Muhammadu Buhari has named train stations in Ibadan and Omi Adio after Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Ladoka Akintola, respectively.

In a statement issued by the Presidency on Monday, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, explained the train stations were named after many “deserving Nigerians”.

Amaechi stated that the “deserving citizens have contributed to the progress and development of their respective communities and the nation at large.”

The Lagos-Ibadan with extension to the Lagos Port Complex at Apapa railway station

Mobolaji Johnson (Ebute Metta Station)

Babatunde Raji Fashola (Agege station)

Lateef Jakande (Agbado station)

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (Kajola station).
