JUST IN: Postponed Ido LG Elections to Hold Sunday, 23rd May, Says OYSIEC

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has announced that the postponed election in the Ido Local Government Area of the state will now hold on Sunday 23rd of May, 2021.

The Chairman of the Commission, Aare Isiaka Olagunju made this known on Saturday while speaking with journalists at the headquarters of the commission in Ibadan, the state capital.

It had been earlier reported that the commission announced the postponement of electoral activities in the Ido local government due to the absence of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP on the ballot papers.

However, Olagunju said that the postponed election will hold between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm adding that restriction will be implemented in the local government area.

He subsequently apologized for any inconvenience this might cause and urged the electorates to come out en-masse to exercise their franchise in the election.
