The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a Technical Committee ahead of the local government council election scheduled for April 27, 2024, by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC). The committee, composed of party faithful, is tasked with ensuring victory for all APC candidates.
During the inauguration ceremony held at the Oke-Ado, Ibadan Secretariat of the APC, Barrister Isaac Omodewu, represented by Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, urged committee members to work diligently to secure victories for the party’s 351 councilorship and 33 chairmanship candidates.
In his address, Omodewu emphasised the importance of the APC in rescuing local government councils from the perceived neglect by Governor Seyi Makinde. He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to counter any attempts by the ruling PDP to manipulate election results.
Key members of the committee include prominent figures such as Sen. Teslim Folarin, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and Dr. Zach Adedeji. The committee’s schedule includes zonal rallies across various regions in Oyo State, with special prayers offered for the party’s success.
The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Olawale Sadare, announced the planned zonal rallies and emphasized the unity and collaboration required from all stakeholders to achieve their goals.
