In preparation for the May 22nd local government election coming up in Oyo state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has flagged off campaign activities in Ibadan South East for its candidates in the poll; Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode as chairman, Vice, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji and the other 12 candidates for councillorship position in the council area.
Declaring the campaign rally official at the Adegoke Adelabu ultramodern market, the National vice Chairman, South West of the party, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja stated that the large turn out of party faithful in the local government is a clear indication that PDP is the party to beat not only in Ibadan South East but the entire Oyo State in the forthcoming local government polls.
Arapaja stated that it is crystal clear what the choice of the people is saying that the people are yearning to enjoy dividends of democracy at the grassroots level hence, the party candidates should endeavour to emulate and complement the citizenry oriented works of Engr Seyi Makinde-led administration by fulfilling all their campaign promises, stressing that Governor Makinde has set the pace of governance.
The Chairman; Pace Setter Transport services Limited, Prince Dare Adeleke while speaking at the event urged all the candidates against putting their personal interest above that of the electorates but rather to replicate the quality of work embarked upon by Engr Seyi Makinde in the State.
