Makinde Constitutes Campaign Council, Names Bayo Lawal as DG

The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has constituted his campaign council ahead of the 2023 elections, naming the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Title, Chief  Bayo Lawal as the Director General of his re-election campaign.

Makinde made the announcement on Friday while having a meeting with PDP aspirants and candidates.

He has also directed the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Bamiwo Adeosun to reappoint appointees who resigned and lost primary elections to their respective position.

The governor has however said he would soon announce replacement for his aides who won election at the primary, as he outrightly announced Mr Wale Ajani to replace Busari Olayeni as the Liason Officer of Oyo State in Abuja.

He added that he would also ensure fresh appointment to fix all the vacant positions in the government.

In his campaign team are: Deputy DG which include — Dr Nureni Adeniran ( Oyo South), O O tope (Oyo Central ),
Barr Adeniyi Farinto (Oyo North), Dikko will handle the youth wing while
Hon Toyin Balogun will head the women wing .

Makinde has also expressed optimism that the party will have 100 percent elective post in 2023.

The governor while addressing candidates and aspirants at a special meeting held at the government house, said those who lost out at the primaries will not lose in all.

“There are a lot we can do in government, we are going to engage people in various position and we will make sure everybody is happy”, he stated.

The party Chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro in his remark said PDP will not go to poll with a divided house and that is why they must resolve all bickerings and crisis that may have emanated during the party primaries

Some of the party leaders who spoke at the event include; Dr. Saka Balogun, Sen Hosea Agboola and lder Wole Oyelese.

They all lauded the aspirants and candidates for understanding the situation and urged them not to allow the development to dampen their morale.
