Makinde Gives Clues On Plans For LAUTECH, Says It Will Have Multi-Campus

Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday, revealed that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH),Ogbomoso, will be transformed into a muliti-campus institution.
The governor gave this information while giving an address to students of the institution who were in his office on a “Thank You” visit in appreciation of the transfer of the governance of LAUTECH to Oyo.

The students, led by the state chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who is also the LAUTECH Student Union President, Olabiyi Anthony, expressed great expectations that it would bring a stop to the crisis that has long been a nightmare to the Institution over the years.

Governor Makinde said: “I came to you during electioneering campaign and I promised to work for you and that is exactly what we are doing now. LAUTECH has the opportunity for research and learning and opportunity to be multi-campus.”

The students expressed their gratitude to the governor for making the transfer of LAUTECH to Oyo State a reality and an promised their unwavering team up and cooperation with his administration.

Recall that Nigerian University Commission (NUC), last Friday, transferred the sole governance of the institution, previously jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states, to the former, after years of deliberation.
