Makinde Meets PDP State Chairmen in Abuja Over Deepened Party Crisis

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday night met with state chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the aegis of the PDP State Chairmen’s Forum in Abuja to discuss ongoing issues threatening the unity of the party.

Speaking after the meeting, the Chairman of the Forum and Edo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, described the current PDP crisisPDP crisis within the party as a struggle between “the forces of darkness and light.”

“This fight is a fight between darkness and light. They aim to dismantle the PDP and enable the APC to win easily in 2027,” Aziegbemi said.

He noted that the visit was to express solidarity with Governor Makinde and to assure him of the Forum’s collective support toward preserving the integrity and strength of the party.

“We came to tell the governor that we are with him and working together to ensure that the PDP succeeds,” he added.

The Forum also commended Governor Makinde for his stabilizing influence within the party and called for the enforcement of internal discipline, renewed unity, and collective commitment from all members to protect the PDP as Nigeria’s leading opposition party.
