Makinde Okays Allocation of N695m for Oyo Health Insurance

In a bid to enrol more vulnerable people in health insurance, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has allocated the sum of N695 million to the state’s health insurance agency (OYSHIA).

Executive Secretary of OYSHIA, Dr Sola Akande, declosed this while speaking on Ibadan-based radio, Fresh 105.9FM, on Saturday.

“This week, the Oyo State Governor approved for us, N695,000,000, as part of our pool to enrol more vulnerable people in the state.

“This is massive in insurance. That again will give us a leverage. For basic health care now, if Federal Government is saying, bring counterpart funding, I will say I have counterpart funding, bring more money for us.

“In Oyo State, enrollment of vulnerable people is nearing 200,000,” he said.
