The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, has debunked rumours of his allegiance to the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) after he was reportedly seen around chieftains and leaders of the ZLP and APC at their meeting on Friday.
According to a source of identified as Idris, who answered the phone call made to the 2019 gubernatorial candidate of ZLP, Barrister Sarafadeen Alli, he denied reports that Alli was perfecting plans to defect to the APC.
But he confirmed the presence of the Oyo Commissioner Wasiu Olatunbosun, at Premier Hotel, where ZLP leaders were holding their meeting.
Clearing the misconceptions in the air, he clarified that Olatunbosun was not there to attend their meeting, his presence was merely coincidental as he was at the hotel for another reason.
While addressing the Governor’s Office Correspondent on the matter, the Commissioner denied meeting with the leadership of the ZLP.
He emphasised that Senator Monsurat Summonu remains his leader, pointing out that ZLP and Sarafadeen, in particular, were against his nomination as a commissioner. He said ZLP nominated another candidate from the Ibadan North West where he hailed.
He said Governor Makinde supported him by rejecting ZLP candidate for his nomination to materialize. Olatunbosun said he is not an ingrate; so he will never betray his benefactor no matter what happens adding that he remains committed to the success of Makinde led administration.
Remarking on his presence on the grounds of Premier Hotel, He said that he was invited to feature on a radio station programme at the Hotel.
