A 35-year-old man, Samuel Oyetayo, was brought before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday, accused of forging an Oyo Government hackney permit and ticket. Oyetayo, whose address was not disclosed, faces a single charge of forgery.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge. Prosecutor Inspector Toyin Ibrahim told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 1 in the Dugbe area of Ibadan. Ibrahim alleged that Oyetayo forged the permit and ticket without the government’s consent, contrary to Section 467 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Kausarat Ayofe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in the same amount. The case was adjourned until June 24 for hearing.
