Olawale Semiu Oyebola has been chosen as the 30th Aseyin of Iseyin. The election took place in Iseyin, Oyo state, with 10 kingmakers participating in the voting process.
At 53 years old, Olawale Oyebola will succeed the late Aseyin, Oba Salahudeen Abdul Ganiyy Adekunle Ajinese 1. The previous Aseyin passed away in 2022 after battling an illness at the University College Hospital in Ibadan. He had served as the Aseyin for 15 years.
Interestingly, the newly elected Aseyin resides in the United States of America with his family. However, he will now take on the responsibilities and duties of the traditional ruler of Iseyin.
To ensure a smooth and uninterrupted process, security operatives cordoned off the Aseyin of Iseyin palace. The officials of the Iseyin local government oversaw the voting process, which resulted in Olawale Oyebola receiving the majority of votes among the 12 aspirants vying for the position.
With his election as the new Aseyin of Iseyin, Olawale Oyebola will undoubtedly bring his experience and unique perspective to the role, continuing the rich tradition and heritage of Iseyin.
