NCS Confers Professional Fellowship on Rep Odidiomo at NITMA 2025

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has conferred its highest professional honour, the esteemed Professional Fellowship, on Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo), the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity.

The conferment ceremony was the highlight of the 2025 Nigeria Information Technology & Merit Awards (NITMA), held at the prestigious Muson Centre in Onikan, Lagos. The annual event brings together the nation’s leading innovators, policymakers, and technology stakeholders to celebrate excellence across Nigeria’s digital landscape.

The NCS fellowship recognises Hon. Olajide’s outstanding contributions to digital development, legislative advancement, and national cybersecurity policy reforms. According to Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the lawmaker, the elevation to the elite College of Fellows followed a rigorous consideration by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NCS.

The NEC, under the leadership of the NCS President, Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, described the fellowship as a recognition of the lawmaker’s “distinguished service, professional excellence and sustained commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.”

In his acceptance speech before a packed audience of top industry figures, professional bodies, and government officials, the lawmaker expressed profound gratitude. “I am deeply humbled and honoured to receive this Professional Fellowship from the NCS,” Hon. Odidiomo stated. “This award is not just a personal milestone, but a testament to our collective efforts in the National Assembly to enact laws that foster technological innovation, digital inclusion, and a sustainable digital economy for all Nigerians.”

Hon. Olajide, who represents the Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State, has earned national and international recognition for driving key legislative interventions. His work has been pivotal in strengthening Nigeria’s cybersecurity framework, expanding digital literacy, enhancing ICT sector governance, and promoting innovation-driven economic growth.
