The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Prof. Abiodun Otegbayo has lamented that about 600 medical professionals have left the health facility in the past year.
According to him, at least 15 nurses, doctors, and pharmacists, among others, exit UCH every week.
Speaking at a news conference marking the 65th Founder’s Day celebration of UCH in Ibadan yesterday, he pointed out that he recently confirmed the resignation of the clinicians.
“Every week, I sign resignation letters of 15 health workers at the institution, who are mostly clinicians, that is, nurses, doctors, and pharmacists, among others”, he stated.
The CMD, therefore, called for the removal of bottlenecks in replacing the workforce due to the mass exodus of health workers.
