NPFL: 3SC Defeats Plateau United in Match day 33

Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, 3SC on Sunday defeated Plateau United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in match day 33 of the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League.

An early opening by Malomo Taofeeq in the 8th minute put 3SC in the lead as he picked the ball up from Suraj Ayeleso’s poor clearance.

A quick pass with Uko Anietie and a low shot beyond the goalkeeper’s reach put the Shooting Stars in an early lead.

A penalty was awarded to 3SC in the 30th minute but was saved by the Plateau United Goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso.

The first half of the match ended 1-0 with 3SC having 2 shots on target while Plateau United had no short on target.

In the 63rd minute of the encounter, Plateau United was awarded a free kick which led to a goal in favour of the visitors bringing the scores to 1-1.

A penalty goal by 3SC’s Moses Odumueke in the 89th minute saw the host regain their lead in the keenly contested match.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of 3SC.

With this win, Shooting Stars are now 12th on the league table with 42 points from 33 matches.
