Olubadan calls for Security meeting, invites Ibadan mogajis and Baales


The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji has called on a security meeting with all family and community heads in Ibadan land. Olubadan made this statement through his media assistant, Adeola Oloko while speaking as a call in guest on a radio program at Fresh (105.9) fm on Tuesday afternoon.

Oloko revealed that the rising security challenge in some part of Ibadan land necessitated this move by the Olubadan, noting that the meeting is to be held on Monday, 12th January by 12 noon at the kings’s palace in Popo iyemoja area of Ibadan.

Emphasizing on the urgency of the meeting, the Olubadan media assistant made reference to how previous meetings with family and community heads forstalled the disintegration of peace around Idi-arere area of Ibadan about three weeks ago.

Responding to if the security meeting cum investigation will beam its searchlight on politicians, he responded, “concerned individuals will be called to take necessary steps to improve the security situation in their respective areas.

Speaking on the same radio programme, the mogaji of Kobomoje, Abdulwasiu Ademola Oyewo Balogun said that his personal investigations revealed that hard drug peddlers at these crime hotspots use the crisis to steal and pilfer.

The Mogaji of Kobomoje stated that it’s high time a meeting of such magnitude is called. He said that although the previous meeting held with the chairman of Ibadan Southeast LG and the representatives of the Otun and Osi, Ita Ege and and Kobomoje area was debediviled with clash, he mentioned that the security situation of his area has been escalated during the southeast traditional council with Oba Lekan Balogun as chairman.
