Olubadan Installs 15 New Mogajis

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, His imperial majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun has warned newly installed family heads otherwise regarded as ‘Mogaji(s)’ against the act of land grabbing.

Ọba Balogun who made this plea during the installation of the 15 new family heads at the Aliiwo ancient palace of the Olubadan at an occasion which had in attendance all the members of Olubadan Advisory Council maintained that the act of land grabbing is a syndrome that has disrepute the name of Ibadan land in an underserving way.

Olubadan who was apt on the relevance of impacting lives further enjoins the newly installed Ibadan family heads to make positive impacts in their respective family compounds and by so doing, it won’t take long when the entire Ibadanland would be full of such impacts.

He stressed that one of the ways by which their respective families would remain grateful and thankful to their ancestors for their choice “is to do things that would make them happy.

“It is not by accident that your respective families put you forward as their heads. The positions call for responsibilities and you should see yourselves as their shoulders that they can lay on.

“Show concern about their plights, show empathy and never you become burdens to them. Think of whatever you can do to bring new lease of life to your indigenous family houses, the oldies that remain there also deserve better life.

“Whatever God has put in your capacities to lift up the younger ones, please, don’t hesitate to do it. We have a lot of young and able bodied men and women roaming about the streets and getting themselves involved in minor and major crimes. Don’t put on the caps if I don’t care, please, care for them and withdraw them from the streets.

“If we take very good care of our respective families within our limited capabilities and our families are okay, it is more than certain that within a short period of time, the whole of Ibadanland would have the feelings of your impacts.

The newly installed Mogajis included Dr. Olugbade Robertson (Alade Abinupagun family), Mr. Sulaiman Odejayi (Ojo Koffo family), Engr. Akintomide David Adeniyi (Alapafon Akinbowale family), Prince Oreoluwa Akinbiyi (Akinbiyi family), Mr. Akinola Aliu (Abibemori family), Chief Abdulwaheed Ajao (Balogun Ajobo family), Mr. Oyelami Aderogba (Aderogba family) and Muhammed Ajenifuja (Kate family).
Others were Alhaji Yakubu Yusuff (Gbede-Ogun family), Tirimisiyu Ojewande (Ojeleye Ojewande family), Olatunbosun Akintoye (Ode-Epo family), Pastor Peter Osuntade (Kusenla family), Barr. Tajudeen Alli (Alli family), Chief Ejilola Sefiu (Ejilude Alakoko family) and Moroof Alade Hammed (Jeko family).
