Olusegun Obasanjo to be special guest at Oke-Ogun Youth Agric summit



Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo will be the special guest of honour at this year’s edition of the Oke Ogun Agric Summit at the Iseyin Town Hall on the 5th of August.



This information was shared in a press statement signed and shared by the coordinator of the Oke Ogun Youth Association, Bola Olalere.




The former president will be speaking at the event, specifically on the theme of the summit titled “Agribusiness and the prosperity on our land”.




President Obasanjo, who is also the founder of the world-famous Obasanjo farms, a leading pioneer of Nigerian agribusiness has shared his belief on previous occasions that Nigeria can grow enough food to sustain herself. He will be sharing his considerable wealth of experience on Agribusiness with Oke Ogun youths and visitors to the summit.

Other speakers expected at the summit include; Otunba Bamidele Dada, a former Minister of Agriculture, Retired Brig. Gen Kunle Togun, the Chairman of Amotekun, Oyo State who will discuss how to tackle the security challenges facing farmers, Alhaji Ahmed Raji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Farmer Kola Adeniji, Chairman, Niji Farms; the biggest cassava grower in Africa.



According to Olalere, “OkeOgun Green Revolution” is an initiative of Oke-Ogun Youths Association that aims to encourage young people’s interest in profitable, sustainable and commercial agriculture by creating a platform to generate networks that will make the work easier and more interesting to them.




“This Summit is a platform to bring all the stakeholders in the Agric. Business together to discuss, network and jointly unearth the prosperity of Oke Ogun,” part of the statement reads.
