One person has been reported dead in an auto crash accident that occurred at Aseese along Laos-Ibadan Express road on Sunday.
The auto crash which was confirmed by the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) indicated that one person died while others sustained injuries in multiple accidents involving three vehicles.
Confirming the incident to newsmen on Sunday evening, the Mowe-Ibafo Divisional Commander of TRACE; Mr. Ojuoro Olusola, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the accident occurred at about 5.53 p.m.
Olusola said the accident involved an Iveco Mini Truck with registration number T4337LA and a Toyota Corolla marked FJA 154 BK and a DAF Truck with no number.
According to him, the speeding DAF truck hit the Iveco Mini truck as it was about negotiating out of a trailer park on the expressway from the rear, hitting the Toyota Corolla.
“Five people were involved in the multiple accident that led to the death of one person, while one other person sustained various degrees of injuries.
“The corpse of the victim has been handed over to the family members while the survivor is receiving treatment at Famobis Hospital,” he said.
The affected vehicles had been removed from the road through the combined effort of officials of TRACE, Federal Road Safety Corps, Police and Army to allow the seamless movement of traffic in the area.
The TRACE commander has called on motorists and all road users to obey all traffic rules and regulations as well as reduce speed to its barest minimum.
