Oyo State Security Network codenamed ‘Amotekun Corps’ in the Ogbomoso axis of the state, has commenced its screening exercise on Wednesday morning.
Some of the participants include – members of Odua People’s Congress OPC, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Agbekoya and others.
Meanwhile, hundreds of applicants were reported to have gathered at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso for the exercise.
The screening exercise which is mainly for four local government areas in Ogbomoso — Ogbomoso North; South Oriire; Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere; commenced today and will end on Friday this week.
The recruitment exercise is part of the efforts of the Governor ‘Seyi Makinde’s-led administration towards strengthening the security system in the state especially in the red zone areas.
Newsmen who monitored the screening exercise reported that pertinent information were asked from participants and other security tips.
In the meantime, the recruitment is part of the efforts of the state government to boost the security architecture in the state inorder to tackle the trend of kidnappings and others experienced in some parts of the state.
