The Chairman of Elders Advisory Council of the All Progressives Congress, Oyo state chapter, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala has convened a meeting with leaders of the party across the seven zones in the state, in a bid to resolving lingering issues over membership of the state executive committee.
The meeting which is scheduled to hold tomorrow (Friday) at the residence of the former governor, Bodija, Ibadan; will also be attended by the appeal committee of the state congress from the national headquarters of the party.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of last week’s directive by the national secretariat of the party that zonal leaders and state elders of the party meet within one week to harmonise positions over the list of state excos.
According to Alao-Akala’s media assistant, Tolu Mustapha, who put out the notice, the meeting is to ratify the zoning arrangement earlier put in place before the state congress was held on October 30, 2021.
Also invited to the meeting are the Chairman, caretaker committee of the party, Chief Akin Oke, and the Caretaker Secretary of the party, Honourable Mojeed Olaoya who have been at loggerheads over the list of state excos, in recent time.
A similar statement by Secretary, State Elders Advisory Council, Dr Isiaka Kolawole, also confirmed the meeting while urging warring factions to sheath their swords for the progress of the party.
