The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has asked its stakeholders from Oyo state to go back and revert to the zoning arrangement done by the former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala Elders’ Advisory Council, in a bid to have a formidable house ahead of the 2023 election.
“Meeting stalemated, they were asked to go back to the state elders council and zonal leaders are to come up with a concensus list,” a top party source revealed.
Report says Mala Mai Buni, the governor of Yobe state and the national caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress, was not in attendance but was represented by James Akpanudoedehe, the party’s national secretary, as the party meets stakeholders from Oyo state.
One of the multiple sources who confirmed the development to our correspondent said Akpanudoedehe rejected the call for a fresh congress, but asked the stakeholders to go back and follow zoning arrangement ratified by the zonal leaders.
The meeting which witnessed heavy turnout of party stakeholders however did not end without a drama.
