Oyo Assembly Approves Tenure Extension for Caretaker Chairmen, Confirms Anti Corruption Board

The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved a 3 month tenure extension for the sixty-eight caretaker chairmen and their members.

The House also screened and confirmed chairman and members of the Oyo State Anti Corruption Board .

The board has Justice Eni Esan, a retired President of Oyo State Customary Court as Chairman while the Director , Ministry of Justice, Mr Ibrahim Oyemonla Tijani is the Secretary.

Other members are Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, Barr. Temitope Ayorinde, Dns. Esther Olapade, Mr A.S Ashaolu, CSP Erindero Lawrence and Mr Ibrahim Oyemonla.

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, while addressing the newly appointed members of the Anti-corruption Agency board urged them to be focused and carry out their duties to the best of their abilities.

He urged the Board members not to compromise their office and position but ensure corruption is reduced to the barest level and corrupt officialsare prosecuted.

The Speaker said, ”We encourage you do you best so that the board can achieve its set objectives. To me it is one of the most important boards in Oyo State going by the resolve of Governor Seyi Makinde to wage total war against corruption in the state. As legislature, we will give all necessary support to the board. It is important that we create awareness on the existence of the Anti-corruption Agency”.

Meanwhile, Hon Justice Eni Esan assured the Legislature that members of the board will justify the confidence reposed in them by waging war on corruption.
