Oyo Assembly Jacks Up 2025 Budget By N6 Billion, Passes Appropriation Bill Into Law

The Oyo State House of Assembly has on Wednesday approved an upward review of the state’s budget, increasing it from ₦678 billion to ₦684 billion.

This approval came after the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation, and State Economic Planning presented its report read by its Chairman, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola representing Egbeda State Constituency.

OyoAffairs can recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde on November 13, 2024 presented a budget proposal of Six hundred and Seventy-Eight billion, Eighty-Six million, Seven hundred and Sixty-Seven thousand, Three hundred and Thirty-Two naira, Eighteen kobo (#678,086,767,332.18).

The Oyo State House of Assembly today approved an upward review of the budget approving a total amount of Six hundred and Eighty-Four billion, One hundred and Forty-Nine million, Three hundred and Ninety-Eight thousand, Three hundred and Ninety-Nine naira, Six kobo (#684,149,398,399.06)

The plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.

According to the Speaker, one major reason for the upward review of the 2025 budget to N684b is to accommodate emerging priorities and critical projects that will drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of our citizens.
