Oyo Assembly Reinstates 13 Caretaker Chairmen

The Oyo state House of Assembly has reinstated 13 caretaker chairmen it formerly put on suspension in the state.

This is coming after a report from the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters was received.

Recall that the Oyo State Forum of Caretaker Chairmen had in a letter pleaded with the House to forgive the suspended Caretaker Chairmen and return them back to their various councils.

The affected Caretaker Chairmen in the Committee report said the #Endsars protest which shook the country hindered them from gaining access into the House of Assembly to submit the report of earthmoving equipment as instructed and consequently offered their unreserved apology to the House.

Some of them also claim to have tendered their report to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters since the circular requesting for submission of the report came through the Ministry.

The report has now been tendered by the affected thirteen Caretaker Chairmen as attested to in the House Committee report presented by Hon Popoola.

During the lifting of the suspension order, the Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said the request was for the house to know the condition of equipment as many of roads in the council areas required grading.
