Oyo Assembly to Continue Impeachment Process Next Week as Olaniyan Responds to Petition

The Oyo State House of Assembly will at the next plenary, commence the impeachment process moved against the state deputy governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan.

This comes as Olaniyan has responded to the notice of allegations and petitions levied against him by the House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Kazeem Olayanju, who confirmed the receipt of Olaniyan’s response to the petitions levied against him, said the deputy governor responded before the expiration of the seven days ultimatum given to him.

He added that the impeachment process will continue next week when plenary resumes.

“Yes, the deputy governor has responded to the petition. Our next plenary sitting will be next Wednesday and the process will continue then”, Olayanju said in a message.

In the meantime, it was gathered that the lawmakers are currently attending a seminar organised for lawmakers from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Oyo states.
