Oyo Govt Approves N3.19 Billion for Payment Of Backlog Of Operations, Maintenance of Light Up Oyo Project From 2020 Till Date

Oyo state government has approved the sum of 3.19 billion naira for the operations and maintenance of the light up Oyo project to improve economic activities at night and complement security architecture of the state.

The State Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resource, Barrister Seun Ashamu made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state Executive Meeting held on Tuesday.

Barrister Seun Ashamu disclosed that the sum of 3.19 billion naira approved by the Executive Council will also offset backlog of outstanding and cover the repairs of vandalized cables from 2020 till date.

He also cautioned against any act of vandalism of public infrastructure particularly the light up Oyo project facilities, as offenders will be prosecuted in line with statutory state laws.

He however made available a hot line that could be called to lodge Complaints on issues or challenges on Light up Oyo Projects.

In his address the state Commissioner for information and orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade who presided over the briefing also hinted on the approval of the executive council to saddle the commissioner for finance Mr Akinola Ojo the responsibility of coordinating the state economy in the post fuel subsidy removal era.

The event also had in attendance the chief press secretary to the state governor, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
