Oyo Govt Releases 1,535 Promotion Letters To LG Staff Across 33 Councils

The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has released 1,535 promotion letters to staff members across the 33 local governments in the Pacesetter State in fulfillment of the 2025 promotion exercise.

The letters, covering promotions from Grade Level 06 to 17, were released to beneficiaries in the Commission and across the seven departments in all the local governments of the state.

The departments include: Administration and General Services (288); Agriculture and Natural Resources (57); Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics (40); Education and Social Services(431); Environmental Health Services (44); Finance and Supplies (315); and Works, Housing, Lands and Survey (360).

Presenting the letters on behalf of the Commission, the Chairman, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, said the exercise was premised on the unwavering resolve of the Executive Governor of the state, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, to prioritize workers’ welfare, motivation and career progression.

Bashorun Akinwale described the promotion as a clear demonstration of the present administration’s commitment to building a professional, efficient, and well-motivated local government workforce that can deliver quality service to the people at the grassroots.

According to him, “This administration under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde understands that a motivated workforce is the engine room of good governance. The prompt release of these promotion letters is in line with his resolve to ensure that no civil servant is stagnated and that hard work is duly recognized and rewarded.”

The Chairman congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see the promotion as both a reward for past diligence and a call to greater responsibility in service delivery across all the local governments and the Commission.He further reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring regular and timely promotion exercises, capacity building, and improved welfare packages for staff in line with the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of the Makinde-led administration.
