The Oyo State Government has announced its collaboration with the private sector to revive the hitherto moribund Ido-Ibadan Farming and Marketing Cooperative Factory, Ido.
According to Governor Seyi Makinde who visited the Factory on Friday, the revival of the factory was in fulfillment of his campaign promise to establish cassava products processing plants in the state.
The Governor noted that when completed, the facility is expected to employ about 140 people on day and night shifts.
He said, “In fulfillment of my campaign promise to establish cassava products processing plants, the state government through the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, OYSADA, is collaborating with the private sector to revive the Ido-Ibadan Farming and Marketing Cooperative Factory.
“When completed, the facility is expected to employ about 140 people on day and night shifts.
“The factory will process 30 tons of cassava per day with an output of 10 tons per day and finished packaged product (Garri) in 5, 10, 20, & 50kg bags for local & possibly export markets.”
