A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dele Adeola recently flagged off empowerment of farmers in his Constituency of Aba Paanu, Akinwumi/Osoogun community, Araromi LCDA, Iseyin Local Government.
The first phase of the empowerment scheme was launched today in Araromi LCDA making the people of Aba Paanu the first beneficiaries of the scheme that was launched to support farmers in the Iseyin/Itesiwaju area and grow their economy.
The farmers who had been unable to plough their farmlands due to a scarcity of funds were assembled at Aba Paanu, spoken to and then had their farms visited and ploughed. Each farmer eventually had two acres of farmland ploughed for them.
The COVID-19 pandemic that started last year has affected millions of lives around the globes and the farmers of Aba Paanu were especially hit hard. When the plowing of their farms was done, the farmers were so overcome by gratitude that they thanked Hon Adeola profusely for coming to their aid.
Dele Adeola later spoke to the assembled farmers and exhorted them to continue to support the Oyo State government in its efforts to revamp Oyo State’s economy by investing in agriculture. He also shared how much he appreciated the good people of Aba Paanu community for supporting him and assured them of reciprocal support.
He also told the farmers that the empowerment phase was just the beginning and that other phases would soon follow all over Iseyin/Itesiwaju constituency.
He rounded up his statement by saying that he would continue to support Oyo State farmers for the vital role they play in Nigeria.
“It is high time we gave support and focus more on famers to enhance food production and the state economy as a whole”, he said.
The head of the Aba Paanu community spoke on behalf of farmers and in his speech, thanked the honorable for his help and showered prayers on him and Governor ‘Seyi Makinde for helping their community in its time of need.
