The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Oyo State in the 2023 general elections, Hon Tawfiq Akinwale has distanced himself from the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi over a controversial phone call with Bishop Oyedepo.

Recall that a phone conversation between Peter Obi and Bishop Oyedepo of Living Faith Church where Peter described the election as a “religious war” calling on the popular cleric to convince his congregations in Yoruba land and Kwara against the result of the poll, surfaced online on Saturday.

Hon Akinwale, who made this statement in a post on his Facebook story was elated that he had dissociated with Peter Obi before the controversial saga occurred.

He wrote: “I thank God that I relayed my experience with him before the whole country realised Yes Daddy”.
