Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has revealed that the state experienced a historical surge in Internally Generated Revenue, IGR of N3.8 billion in the month of November 2022.
The Governor revealed this earlier today while signing the state 2023 appropriation bill christened “Budget of Sustainable Development” into law in Saki, Oke-Ogun zone of the state.
Gov Makinde noted that the increase in the state IGR for the month of November 2022 is unprecedented in the history of the state and was achieved without raising taxes on the citizens.
While signing the Three hundred and ten billion, four hundred and thirty-two million, five hundred naira budget into Law at the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency OYSADA Hall, Saki, the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, said the signing of the budget into law in Saki is a testimony to the fact that the state is running an integrated economy.
He added that the present administration would focus expansion of the state’s Economy development of Solid Mineralss and Tourism in the Omituntun 2.0 mantra.
The Governor also appreciated the state legislative arm for the speedy passage of the budget and their dedication to the people of Oyo State.
Earlier in his remarks, the speaker of the Oyo House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin reiterated that the budget is a product of the synergy and collaboration to governance by all the three arms of government in the state.
Hon. Ogundoyin promised proper budget monitoring to ensure full implementation and high-budget performance.
The budget signing was witnessed by the state deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo-Lawal, Commissioners, Local government chairmen, Traditional Rulers, and PDP members, among others.
