UN Ranked Oyo State Among Top 11 States With Quality Education in Nigeria

The United Nations, UN, through its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has ranked Oyo state among 11 states with quality education in Public primary schools in Nigeria.

As a result, the index of the Oyo state in term of quality education has been reviewed upward from its former 27th position.

This was revealed by the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, in a chat with Newsmen in Ibadan, recently.

According to the SUBEB Chairman, the development cum free education policy of the state government have attracted about 10,000 pupils which includes drop outs and beggars.

Dr. Adeniran further explained that the state government has introduced into primary schools’ scheme of work and time table, a special period for reading and writing, noting that the periods will become effective when the new session begins on 21st September, 2020.

When quizzed on the school projects embarked upon by the Govenor Seyi Makinde led administration, Dr. Adeniran hinted that the state government has completed and commissioned about 70% abandoned school projects left behind by the immediate past administration in the state.
