Following a resolution reached today by Oyo state government representatives and officials of the Joint Action Committee of Oyo State Tertary Institutions, the association has suspended their strike.
The resolution to end the strike was contained in a statement signed by the JAC team leader; Oyewunmi Okusegun, in which members of the concerned associations agreed on today.
The statement in full:
“Following considerations of diverse factors in series of meetings that culminated in a mutual agreement reached and signed on Monday 26/4/2021, both parties viz: Government side led by The Hon. Commissioner, Barr. Olasunkanmi A. O. & JAC team led by Com. OYEWUMI S. Olusegun concluded as contained in the wordings of the attached document.
“Following this development, The Joint Action Committee of ASUP, SSUCOEN, COEASU and SSANIP of EACOED, OYSCATECH, OYSCOED, AOP Eruwa and TOP Shaki hereby suspends her eight (8) week old legitimate action for The Government to immediately implement the content of the agreement.
“All Unions are hereby directed to convene their respective Congresses with a view of commencing regular activities on the campuses.
“With this agreement The Government will pay April salary alongside 2 months arrears before Friday 30/4/2021. The delay is owing to the fact that preparations of April salary had been concluded before finalizing the agreement.
“Finally, JAC expresses her appreciations to all members for being resolutely steadfast and supportive throughout the period of trivail.
