OYRTMA Rescues Two in Ibadan Auto-Crash



Oyo state Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) helped two road crash victims along the Ojoo-Akinyele Road in Ibadan on Saturday.

Reports stated that the Fast-track Emergency Rescue Operations Teams of the commission helped rescue the crash victims involving a lone Grey-colored Kia vehicle; registration number LND 813 GB.

It was revealed that the Driver of the Kia Vehicle drove recklessly resulting into the vehicle somersaulting with the driver and his lone passenger sustaining serious injuries.

According to a statement by the Commission which reads in part: “It took the instantaneous intervention of our Rescue Team to save the lives of the victims who were immediately rushed to the hospital for proper medical attention and the affected vehicle removed from accident scene.”

Recall that the Executive Chairman, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi had prior to the Easter holidays initiated proactive measures to ensure a seamless Easter celebration through provision of emergency rescue operations, enforcement of Operation-One-Passenger Policy as well as forming a liaison with other sister security agencies in combating crimes.

The Executive Chairman however advised road users to be cautious of over-speeding noting that most road crashes are a result of going beyond the approved speed limit.

Furthermore, he beseeched residents of Oyo State to stay vigilant, drive more carefully and support Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in ridding the roads of avoidable road crashes. He reiterated that the security of lives and properties is everybody’s business.
