…Promises New Students that College Management Prioritizes their Welfare
The Acting Provost of the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate, Mr. Michael Olukayode Falade has stated for the benefit of the college’s newly-admitted students that the college management places a high priority on their welfare.
Mr. Falade was addressing the new students at the matriculation ceremony when he made that statement. He also told them that they were being matriculated into a college of education known for peace and academic excellence and that they should cherish every moment of their stay there.
He stated that the college is concerned about the well-being of their students, hence, the conducive environment for them to live and study in, made possible by the College Governing Council and management. He also advised the incoming students to reflect on their matriculation oath, saying the recital was a promise to be of good behavior and that they would be held responsible if they behaved badly during their time at the institution.
The Provost thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s support of the school, particularly for the academic support and building grants given to them. He also stated that the school’s future plans include completing their Central Library and undergoing their accreditation later this year.
Mr. Falade also thanked the Oyo State House of Assembly for granting the college approval for a name change, the College Council headed by Group Captain Dr. Bisi Ojebola (retired) and the College Union leaders for their understanding and patience, and the Lanlate people for always making the College staff and students feel welcome in their community.
To round up his speech, he again congratulated the matriculating students and their parents/guardians/sponsors and reminded them to pay their fees on time to avoid paying a late penalty fee.
