Photos: Soun of Ogbomoso Buried in Palace Tomb

… as Oyo Deputy Gov, Ladoja, Alao-Akala, Others Pay Homage to Late Monarch

The remains of the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III was committed to the earth in the ancient city on Sunday evening after prayers were said.

Following his demise, Ogbomoso sons and daughters, home and abroad have continued to throng the palace since the news of the death of the monarch broke out.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, CON, CFR, Soun of Ogbomosoland passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 12th December 2021, marking the end of 48 years of a glorious reign.

The monarch was buried according to Islamic rites in a vault in the palace at about 4:30 pm.

The burial prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Tholiat Oluwasina Ayilara.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Rauf Olaniyan; former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala and former Governor Rashidi Ladoja visited the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, on account of his demise, to pay their respects.

Also, other leading personalities in the state who came to condole with the family of the late monarch were the Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi; Senator Fatai Buhari; and Senator Hamzat Adeseun, among others.
