President Bola Tinubu received the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
This was the monarch’s first official audience with the President since his coronation on April 12, 2025.
Oba Owoade arrived at the Villa shortly after Jumaat prayers and was received soon after President Tinubu concluded a closed-door security briefing with service chiefs and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
During the Alaafin’s recent coronation in Oyo town, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, encouraged the monarch to promote unity among the Yoruba people and reinforce the cohesion of Nigeria as a nation.
