Saki West LG Chairman Calls For Calm, Cooperation as Residents Report Earth Tremor

Residents of Medina area, Veterinary area, Ogbooro road and other areas in Saki West Local Government Area have reported vibrations and sounds in the area which is being linked with earth tremor.

In wake of this, the council chairman, Engineer Sarafadeen Omirinde has called for calm and cooperation.

Omirinde while speaking with newsmen on Monday said relevant authorities have been contacted in the move to find a lasting solution to the problem.

He hinted that Geologist from Ibadan and Abuja have visited the area as part of the efforts to solve the problem adding that letters have been written to the state government under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde to explain the situation of things and seek help.

His word: “I want to urge my people in Saki West local government to remain calm and cooperate with the government in our move to find a lasting solution to the earth vibration.

“I must let my people know that efforts are ongoing in finding solutions to the problem. Recently, we received some Geologists from Abuja and Ibadan who visited the affected areas to check. Also, I have written letters to the state government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and numerous contact have been made.

“I just want to urge our people to remain calm and keep cooperating with the government.”
