Senate Confirms Tegbe, Enikanolaiye as Ministers

The Senate on Wednesday approved the appointments of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The confirmation followed a request transmitted by President Bola Tinubu to the upper chamber barely 24 hours earlier.

The request was contained in a letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The nominees were subsequently screened by lawmakers in line with constitutional requirements before their confirmation.

Tegbe’s nomination came in the wake of the resignation of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who reportedly stepped down to pursue elective office.

Enikanolaiye, on the other hand, was nominated to serve as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs following recent changes in the ministry’s leadership.

His appointment comes after the elevation of Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who previously held the position of Minister of State before assuming the role of substantive minister.

Prior to his nomination, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
