Seyi Makinde, Others to be Prosecuted if Proven to Have Tweeted – Malami

The spokesman of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN) has stated that Governor Seyi Makinde and the other notable political figures who have posted on Twitter since the Social Media application was banned by the Federal Government will be prosecuted if it can be established without a reasonable doubt that they tweeted.

This revelation was made by a foreign journalist; Naomi Scherbel-Ball who revealed on her Twitter page how a conversation with the AGFs spokesman, Dr Gwandu went.

In her words: “Just spoke to Nigerian attorney general, Malami spox(sic), Dr Gwandu, who said that any individual or company violating the government’s suspension of twitter would be prosecuted if it was proved within reasonable doubt that they tweeted”

In reply to her question asking him if Governor Seyi Makinde, NCDC and presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad would be prosecuted among others, Dr Gwandu repeated that it would need to be established beyond reasonable doubt that they had tweeted.
