The Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde has bid farewell to the 2019 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Governor Makinde urged them to be good ambassadors of Oyo State and to pray for our dear state and our nation.
He gave the admonition on Wednesday at Hajj camp, Olodo Ibadan during a farewell ceremony for 2019 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Governor Makinde urged the pilgrims to reflect the pacesetting status of the state in deeds and action and also pray for the state while in Saudi Arabia, adding that in no distance time his administration would ensure pilgrims were airlifted from the Alakia airport in Ibadan.
Seyi Makinde Urges 2019 Pilgrims To Pray For OyoIn his address, the Chairman Oyo state Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wings) Professor Sayed Hamzah Malik appreciated the Governor for his commitment to the success of this year’s Hajj and appealed for upgrading of facilities at the camp.
Some of the intending pilgrims commended the government and officials of the welfare board for ensuring a hitch freearrangements for the 2019 Hajj.
In all about nine hundred pilgrims would be airlifted from Oyo state to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.
