Congress (APC), Chief Moshood Adeyemi has cautioned Alhaji Kayode Adanla to stop deceiving himself and others that the party is now one in Oyo State.
He was reacting to claims by Adanla that the APC is now one after the ill-fated reconciliation meeting at the residence of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, saying that it was people like Adanla who destroyed the party in the first instance and that they are at it again to frustrate true reconciliation in the party.
Adanla, had on Monday, while reacting to Sunday’s peace meeting of the party initiated by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, said the final resolution of this crisis and the prolonged crisis rocking the party in the state is now over.
The APC chieftain stated that with final resolution of the prolonged crisis, said we will make sure we live as one big family henceforth. No more bickering or in- fighting amongst us again.
“All the groups, camps, factions have been disbanded and what we have now is one big APC family. The meeting unanimously decided and it was agreed by all that was present at the meeting that be it Senaco, Lamist, Unity forum, Destiny group, Reformers, Aspirants forum, Way forward or what have you, should cease to exist and all structures should collapse into APC,” Adanla had added.
But Adeyemi noted that Adanla had been all over the media claiming that party chieftains across the 33 local government areas of the state have been commending the Sunday meeting when in fact the meetng has become a subject of controversy and worsened the fragile peace in the state.
“Adanla should stop all this grandstanding and stop fooling himself. This is how he almost stalled the meeting at the residence of Goverrnor Fayemi with his unguraded utterances. This notion that they can “jagba” as they did in their previous parties will only destroy the party. Those who did the same in 2015 only recorded 65,000 votes across the whole state. It is worthless hijacking a party when you are not a sellable material,” he said.
“All peace loving members of APC should note that since the advent of democracy in 1999, Adanla has been a member of the AD, ANPP, APC, ADP and was candidate of the Unity Forum for office of organizing secretary in the 2018 elections. People like Adanla should hide their face in shame and not pollute the waters.
Adeyemi said Adanla should learn from party leaders like Otunba Alao Akala and Otunba Alake Adeyemo who are measured in their pronouncements to make peace return to the party.
“The APC is not a party of violence and individuals who only speak language of violence should leave our party for peace to return. Adanla has been sponsoring fake stories that party chieftains across the state have been endorsing the Sunday meeting when in truth there has been a reign of peace of the graveyard in the party since the meeting.
“We call on peace loving members to call charlatans muddling the waters in the party to prevent a return to the crisis that cost rhe party the humiliation in the 2015 elections”,the statement concluded.
