The Subair Adelokun Foundation (SAF) has successfully concluded the 2024 Ibadan Essay Writing Competition, an initiative aimed at promoting literacy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among young people in interior parts of Ibadan.
The competition, which took place in December 2024, saw the participation of 50 students from different local communities. Out of these, 7 exceptional participants were shortlisted as the top performers.
To recognize their efforts and commitment to excellence, all 50 participants were rewarded with certificates of participation, 10 SAF-branded notebooks each, cash prizes, and Yoruba books to further inspire their learning and appreciation for indigenous literature.

The success of this initiative was made possible through the generous support of notable individuals and organizations, including Mogaji Prof Musa Aibinu (VC of Summit University), Mr. Ibrahim Oredola, Atelewo, Mogaji (Hon) Olaide Olalere, Mogaji Prof Lateef Sani, Hon Isa, Hon Idris Ajibola, Aare Samuel Ibikunle Arugboboisi, Miss Karimot Odebode, Mr. Ayo Adams, Mr. Teslim, Engineer Ola Kasali, OyoAffairs, and others.
As part of the foundation’s commitment to amplifying the voices of these young writers, their essays will be made available to the public. This initiative will allow everyone to read about their dreams, hopes for the future, and the realities of their daily lives.
Speaking at the event, the representative of Oloye Olajuwon Subair-Adelokun emphasized the foundation’s dedication to empowering young minds through education and intellectual engagement. “Our goal is to give these young people a voice and a platform to express themselves. Through this competition, we hope to inspire a generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers.”

With this successful edition, the Subair Adelokun Foundation plans to expand its educational outreach and continue supporting young scholars in underserved communities.
