Sunday Dare, Olojede, Others to Grace PASGR, Mastercard Foundation Youth Workshop in Ibadan

The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), in conjunction with the Mastercard Foundation, will tomorrow (Tuesday) 14th December, 2021 hold a research-based and youth-driven workshop in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria.

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Students’ Affairs, Mr. Victor Dideoluwa Olojede, Dr. Anthony Mveyange – Executive Director, PASGR, Dr. Babatunde Raphael Ojebuyi – Nigeria’s Project Principal Investigator, Dr. Martin Atela – Programme Manager Research, PASGR among other speakers and dignitaries, will be speaking at the program me which is expected to commence at 10am.

The programme will enable participants and the research team to discuss matters revolving around the workshop’s theme, “Young Women and Men’s Aspirations and Resilience: Prospects for Livelihoods, Employment and Accountability Before, During and Beyond COVID-19 in Nigeria”.

The inception workshop for Nigeria, which will take place at Carlton Gate Exclusive Hotel, Ibadan, Oyo state will assist Nigeria to develop innovative evidence-informed research approaches, that will ensure and enhance policy outcomes for the youths.

The Executive Director, PASGR, Dr. Anthony Mveyange, stated that the workshop will be an avenue to explain the research project to stakeholders and obtain their views on the research approach, identify and select stakeholders that will be critical for the project success.

Similarly, the Project Principal Investigator (PPI) for Nigeria, Dr. Babatunde Ojebuyi of the University of Ibadan mentioned that the convening will bring together the youths and other relevant stakeholders involved in youth activities (such as government, development partners,  scholars, the media and CSOs). 

Ojebuyi further said the convening will be a platform for interested participants to have continuous conversations on youth aspirations and resilience in Nigeria, and take them up in policy spaces.
